When A Problem Comes Along, You Must Whip It

Whether you're picking up the gorgeous-looking omnibuses of the vintage Further Adventures of Indiana Jones or not or a fan who regrets selling off his run of issues back in the day, Marvel has another surprise for old school fans of the world's most famous archaeologist.

In November - just in time for my birthday, by the way - the House of Ideas is releasing a facsimile edition of the very first issue of The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones, from 1983.

Written by John Byrne, with art by Byrne and Terry Austin (who also provided the cover art), the plot of this debut issue also served as the plot of the introductory adventure in the ill-fated 1984 Indiana Jones roleplaying game from TSR.
When celebrated college professor Indiana Jones is visited by former star student Charlie Dunne, bringing news of an amazing discovery, unexpected tragedy strikes — and that means it’s time for Indy to grab his trademark hat and whip!
Heading off to Africa, he joins Dunne’s sister, Edith, on a search for the golden Ikons of Ikammanen - but it won’t be long before they’re in a battle for survival!
It’s everything you’d want from an Indy adventure - boldly re-presented in its original form, ads and all!
