Based on the Ancient Greek epic. After ten years of war, King Odysseus sets sail for Ithaca, eager to reunite with his beloved. But his journey home is far more treacherous than the battlefield, as he must face deadly monsters and vengeful gods to survive. And it looks bloody brilliant. A pure Dungeons & Dragons monsterfest, a sword-and-sorcery, fantasy epic of the kind that The Asylum is particularly adept at magicking up.
While I'm interested in seeing - at some point, at home - the, possibly pretentious, big budget version of The Odyssey that's about to hit cinemas (it's Greek myths, gods and monsters, after all), I have to confess The Asylum's iteration looks more my speed.
Note, this is a different movie to The Asylum's earlier Troy: The Odyssey which was mockbustering Wolfgang Petersen's Troy.
