As part of Comics Giveaway Day - an "alternative" to the established Free Comic Book Day but occurring on the same day - Marvel, having remembered it has the Planet of The Apes license, will be releasing a new story for our simian superstars in a book showcasing 20th Century Studios sci-fi.
Saladin Ahmed presents a tale set on a planet that’s already succumbed to Xenomorphs! And in Jordan Morris’ story, a Yautja warrior stalks one of Earth’s greatest fighters. All this and a return to the Planet of the Apes! This free comic will be available in participating comic book stores on May 2 (which is also Free Comic Book Day).
That’s really cool. I recently picked up a hardcover collection of the old Marvel Planet of the Apes series.
ReplyDeleteI really, really want Marvel to do something clever and long-term with the PoTA licence. Even if it has to be a crossover with the main 616 Universe or feature invasions by the Xenomorphs or Yautja ! Just don't let it gather dust. Also, they need to publish more omnibuses of the original run of apes comics that I read as a kid.
